Long term friends and collaborators, Thomas Gandey and Rowee took a long time to bring this truly beautiful project to fruition. ‘Rise’ is no ordinary dance track, with an exceptional amount of craft and love put into it it, it has quite the story to tell. 

Thomas and Rowee have collaborated before and having played many parties together in Italy and across the world. This time, Thomas said that he sent Leonardo (Rowee) a track in the style of his ‘Last Communication’ remixes, mostly performed from a live jam with flicks of Fender Rhodes, flamenco guitar, ukelelee and worldly percussion. As Thomas says ‘we kept deconstructing the session and going back and forth countless times then when Leonardo added a stunning string arrangement, it bought in so much life and Leo had the genius idea of approaching singer Cari Golden, one of the most recognisable and hardest working voices in dance music who we both hugely admire to write a song on the track’

It was a perfect fit for her. Within a few days, and a few more sessions between them, the Result is ‘Rise’ a spine-tingling Torch Anthem, melancholic but uplifting at the same time, reminiscent of classic nostalgia such as ‘Everything but the Girl’ but ‘Rise’ is ready for the clubs and most certainly the Balearic beaches. With a beatless ambient version included we know this is shaping up to be a classic piece of Electronica.
