Spektre are back on their record label Respekt with an enthralling two-track techno EP in the duo’s usual peak-time style, and it’s a perfect summer festival record.

Based in the UK, Spektre is the shared alias of Rich Wakley and Paul Maddox, and they have released their explosive tracks on scene leading labels ranging from Pleasurekraft’s Kraftek to Reinier Zonneveld’s Filth On Acid.

Although they have already made a return as headliners on the international DJ circuit, this is their first new original music since the pandemic, and they are once again asserting their dominance, as both the tracks on this release showcase Spektre at their very best.

The release features two versions of a track called ‘Endless Days’ which fuses breakbeat rhythms with a four-to-the-floor kick drum and an old-school piano riff. Its timeless sound blends rave influence with modern techno flair.

Along with the club mix, there is also the Breaks Mix, which swaps the four-four kick drum to a broken beat rhythm to match the breakbeat percussion loop. Still utilizing the sensual vocal sample and piano riff, it also makes more prominent use of the analog bleeps of the arpeggio synth line.

You can now listen to the full premiere of the breaks version exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
