Crossover techno classic ’Space Cruising’ is, to this day, still the most successful record from the Rotation Records catalog, having sold upward of 10.000 copies on vinyl since its release in 2001. Having crossed paths and shared stages across Europe, label boss Dave Angel signed an early demo copy given to him by DJ/Producer, Psychogene…. “Seriously, I was like WOW, this is so Rotation.” That reaction was shared by many, as it went on to become a club HIT!

Demand for digging out the original DAT, remastering and re-releasing it to the world has been high. So when Dave received a personal request from Brazilian techno don, Wehbba, to give it a 2022 refresh, he was excited to see where he’d take it… Now he’s even more excited to finally unleash it on the world.

“The first time I heard Space Cruising was in 2002, when Carl Cox played it during his first visit to Brazil. That night changed my life, and made my love for techno an obsession. Setting the course to where I am today. The highlight of that night was Space Cruising, I was just blown away, could barely figure out what was going on, I remember it vividly. That was also a time when I was diving deep into becoming a music producer, and the track has had an impact on my music ever since.

It’s by far the record I’ve played the most over the years. When Dave recently asked on his socials which Rotation release he should re-issue, I replied instantly asking about Space Cruising. It has been one of my most fulfilling projects to work on. It’s always a very sensitive thing to work on something so iconic, that means so much to so many people, including myself. Which is why I also tried to stay faithful to the original, in a classic remix form, just giving it a new breath for the years to come.” – Wehbba
