The irresistible PIV Records label is back with another scorching EP, this time from Job de Jong with a remix from man of the moment Folamour.

de Jong is an ambitious 23-year-old DJ and producer born and raised in Leiden, the Netherlands, who is making real moves with a groovy mix of house, minimal and disco sounds. He has had Beatport number ones in the past and impresses again here.

This one kicks off with Enchanted, a chunky house funker with buffed metal surfaces looping next to the warm, diffused chords. Add in a subtle soul vocal and you have a top tune. Remixer Folamour is one of the most on form artists in the game right now. He has a musical, emotive sound and here he brings new depths to Enchanted with lithe synth work that is both futuristic and colourful.

Inside Man is another superbly succulent and smooth house cut, with dynamic drum loops and neat old-school bass signifiers next to cheeky chord stabs. Sounds Of The Universe is a cut tinged with garage skip – the crispy drums have a nice subtle break and the balmy chords bring to mind summer dancing. ‘Do Not Resist’ closes out with Detroit-style synth soul and jazzed up chords over timeless house drums.
