Celebrated for his thick, sweltering basslines and hypnotic grooves, Filipino-American DJ and producer Dillon Nathaniel returns with ‘Ethos ‘– a bold, three-track statement marking the relaunch of his label, Obsessions. Out August 22nd, the EP arrives as both a reintroduction and a mission statement: a new era of music built from the inside out, with zero compromise.

Each track on ‘Ethos’ taps into a distinct identity, showcasing Dillon Nathaniel’s growth as both an artist and a selector. The project opens with ‘Elevated,’ a more introspective cut that blends his signature tech-house sensibilities with a deeper, emotional undercurrent. ‘NSTY’ follows with pounding percussion and late-night warehouse energy– raw, driving, and built for the rave. The EP closes with ‘I’m Insane,’ a chaotic and infectious finale marked by a distorted vocal hook and an unrelenting low-end groove.

Dillon shares: “I started this label to give myself and others the freedom to release music that feels true, no chasing hype, no compromise. Obsessions is about pushing what feels honest, raw, and built to last. Just sound that hits from the inside out. Ethos means the spirit, the character, and the intention behind what you do. That’s really what Obsessions is about: music created with intention, and true to who you are. That’s the kind of music I obsess over.”

Raised in a Filipino-American household where dance music was family lore, Dillon’s first life-changing experience came at sixteen, when his parents took him to EDC Las Vegas. What followed was a journey of musical reinvention– evolving from a punk vocalist and guitar player into one of North America’s most in-demand house selectors. Now, a favorite of dance icons like MK, Green Velvet, Chris Lake, John Summit, and Mau P, Dillon Nathaniel has built a reputation as a producer’s producer– a true technician with roots in audio engineering and a love for gear. His past catalog spans essential dance labels like Sola, Repopulate Mars, Confession, Night Bass, and Insomniac. But Obsessions marks a more personal shift– an imprint focused on unfiltered identity, artistic risk, and a deeper connection to the community that shaped him.

With ‘Ethos,’ Dillon Nathaniel returns to that initial spark– providing a three-track EP that represents his evolution as an artist and newfound purpose in his successful career. Paired with the relaunch of his Obsessions imprint, the North American house pioneer hopes to uplift other artists who share that same burning passion for music in the years to come.

You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘NSTY’ exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
