The latest release on Refraction Records brings another striking collaboration between label boss Pedro Capelossi and Aeikus, this time delivering a fresh twist to their signature deep aesthetic. Featuring remixes from Brickman and Zone+, the Fear The Machine EP steps into uncharted territory for the duo, blending deep house foundations with dub textures and subtle electro inflections. Across its two originals, ‘Fear The Machine’ and ‘Gravity’, the artists explore a more futuristic and mechanical sound palette, pushing their creative boundaries while keeping the immersive depth that defines the label.

‘Fear The Machine’ opens the EP with immediate impact, driven by punchy house stabs and underpinned by a tight, rolling groove. Layered melodic pads add depth and warmth, while subtle electro accents give the track a distinctive edge. It’s an intricate balance of drive and atmosphere — energetic enough to command the floor, yet refined enough to reveal new details with every listen.

‘Gravity’ shifts the mood into a more introspective dimension, embracing spacious arrangements and immersive textures. Futuristic pads and airy dub chords intertwine over a smooth, hypnotic groove, creating a deep sense of space and movement. The track’s understated energy makes it equally fitting for late-night sets or focused listening, maintaining a steady pull while drawing the listener inward.

Brickman delivers a masterfully executed deep techno rework of ‘Fear The Machine’, showcasing his hallmark precision and forward-thinking sensibility. The remix unfolds with patient progression, weaving together intricate percussion, resonant basslines, and a sleek, futuristic arrangement. It’s a track that rewards attention, carrying both dancefloor momentum and a sense of cerebral exploration.

Zone+ rounds off the release with a smooth yet compelling deep house interpretation of ‘Gravity’, infusing the EP with his trademark warmth and fluidity. Known for his refined productions on labels like All Day I Dream, Satya, and Luck of Access, he crafts an arrangement rich in flowing textures and understated grooves. The result is a graceful closing chapter, offering a sense of resolution while leaving the journey lingering in the listener’s mind.

You can now listen to the full premiere of Zone+ remix exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
