To mark the occasion, Groovecreator has launched “X SESSIONS”, a new intimate event concept designed to showcase his hypnotic brand of techno. For its debut edition in Brooklyn, he invited none other than Robert Owens himself for a rare Back 2 Back DJ set and live vocal performance, hosted at The Ornate Studio in collaboration with The Ornate Project. The night was recorded live, capturing the raw electricity of two artists whose chemistry has been more than a decade in the making.

A Connection Born from a Remix — and a Boiler Room Breakthrough

The story between Groovecreator and the legendary Robert Owens began 14 years ago with ‘Slide’, a release featuring Robert’s iconic vocals. Groovecreator submitted his ‘Throwback Remix’ after the official deadline, but the wait was worth it. The rework, built on arpeggiated chords, booming 808s, and organ-driven jackin’ energy, unexpectedly became the standout of the project.

The track soon exploded on Boiler Room, both in the UK and Chicago, forging a bond between Owens — the Chicago-born house music pioneer now based in Berlin — and Groovecreator, the New York City native known for his ferocious skill both in the studio and on the decks.

Momentum That Never Stopped Building

In 2024, musical threads intertwined again with the release of ‘Stronger’ by Robert Owens & Jamie Anderson feat. Macka, featuring remix contributions from David Morales, Tyree Cooper, and Groovecreator. His ‘Unreleased Nostalgic Dub’ 3, intended only for select DJs, unexpectedly landed on Beatport’s Best Deep House.

Robert Owens himself put it best: “Groovecreator’s remixes — both his deep jackin’ house and his techno — always hit the hardest. They helped sell the entire package. I’m grateful for all of us.”

2025: A New Peak, ‘Everything (Warehouse Dub)’ Hits #1

Groovecreator’s ‘Warehouse Dub’ remix of ‘Everything’ has now reached the top of the Traxsource Global Techno chart—reigniting excitement around Musical Directions Recordings and spotlighting their cross-continental synergy.

To celebrate, the first edition of X Sessions was born: a hybrid DJ and vocal performance where Groovecreator and Robert Owens push their hypnotic, pumping techno sound to new dimensions. Supported by Dimitri & Lauren (Lo Down Agency), the My Playground Blog team, and The Ornate Project, the event showcased their fully connected musical universe — from Hard Groove to Detroit Techno, from Melodic House & Techno to peak-time festival weapons.
