Sprout welcomes two new names to its roster this month as Tali Muss and Acrobat join forces on the ‘Emerald’ EP, a two-track release built on detailed, emotive productions that take their time to bloom. Landing on September 25th, the EP marks the pair’s debut on the label, and When We Dip is proud to premiere its title track today.

‘Emerald’ is driven by layered synth work and a subtle sense of tension that grows as the track moves forward. A rolling bassline and patient percussion lay the foundation while shimmering melodic textures slowly rise above, pulling the listener deeper with every phrase. On the flip, ‘Breathe In The Light’ takes a more expansive route, with airy melodies floating over a steady groove for a hypnotic, uplifting feel.

Tali Muss, the alias of Baku based producer Anatoly Musaev, has shaped a distinctive sound that blends deep atmospheric textures, dense bass, and unconventional synth progressions, often with subtle oriental motifs woven in. His music has appeared on labels such as Hollystone Records, Univack Records, UV Noir, and Movement Recordings. Acrobat, meanwhile, is a resident DJ at Eden Garden and Lighthouse on Koh Phangan and the owner of SoundFocus. Moving freely between melodic house, techno, and progressive, he has released on 3000Grad, Family Piknik Music, Bar 25, and Great Stuff Recordings, among many others.

Run by German progressive stalwart D-Nox, Sprout has long been a home for melodic and progressive music with real depth and emotion, with artists like D-Nox & Beckers, Mariano Mellino, André Moret, and Kamilo Sanclemente all featured on the imprint. ‘Emerald’ is a fitting debut from two artists whose sensibilities sit naturally within the label’s sound.
