Two years after its original release, ‘Chuva de Verão’ returns in the hands of one of melodic house’s most revered voices. Berlin-based producer and live act Ryan Davis has released on some of the scene’s most renowned labels, earning support from names including Depeche Mode, Aphex Twin and Ólafur Arnalds. Now, he takes on the third chapter of the ‘Chuva de Verão’ remix series, bringing a personal connection to the project along with his own distinct touch.
For DOT and Karuana, the remix carries an added significance, with Ryan having been a defining influence on the project since day one. His arrival on the record makes for a genuine full-circle moment, turning years of admiration into a collaboration that feels both natural and long overdue.
Staying close to the DNA of the original, Ryan reshapes it from within, introducing a live, breathing snare that never quite sits still, bitcrushed textures that roughen the edges, and detuned synths that push its emotional weight further. Chopped vocal fragments and his signature foley percussion weave through the arrangement, adding movement and character without overwhelming the track. The result is a considered remix that knows exactly when to hold back, letting each detail make its mark.
