WWD: Thanks for taking the time to chat guys! Where in the world are you right now?

Thank you for having me guys. I am originally Egyptian, born in Morocco, and I am currently based in London and been living here for 9 years now!

WWD: What’s the first thing you tend to do each morning when you wake up?

During the weekdays, I work a 9 to 5 Job in marketing and PR so I tend to wake up really early and go to the gym before work. During the weekend, I usually DJ and go to the studio or catch on some sleep.

WWD: When do you fit your studio time in? Do you work full time on music?

I try my best to fit a few hours a day but as you can guess it’s not easy during the weekday as I work from 9 to 5. What I try to do is as soon as I finish work, I come back home and work on some music, depending on the inspiration.

WWD: What can you tell us about how you put together the tracks on the release??

I have made the track around the end of 2015 but was sitting on it as I wanted to release it on a good label. Around that time I started speaking to Kal about signing it on Underground Audio. He really liked the song and got 3 brilliant artists to do a remix.

WWD: Remixes come from SIS, Rudosa and Ray Okpara, an impressive line-up. Is that something that excites you?

Very much so! Both SIS and Ray Okpara are legends that I admire and it is humbling to have their name next to mine in an EP.  Do you know how hard it is to keep it as a secret for a couple of month, specially when you’re this excited?

WWD: In your eyes, what is the most important thing to look for in a remixer?

In my opinion there are a few things to look for in a remixer and one of them is consistency. For me, a good remixer should have a proven track of consistently banging remixes..

WWD: Can you tell us about your relationship with Underground Audio? How did you first connect with the label?

I first started speaking to Kal from Underground Audio by the end of last year. I had a finished product, my track Unidos, that I sent him. After a several weeks of talks, I sent him the improved version and he was hooked.

WWD: Are you a producer who work specifically on a sound for a certain label or do you let the creativity take control and then match up with the label once the finished product is ready?

Unless a label asks me for a specific sound, I tend to let my creativity guide me. Sometimes you can be sitting in the studio wanting to produce something and end up producing something completely different. That’s beauty of creativity as you don’t know where it will lead you.

WWD: The one thing your most looking forward to this Summer?

When you live in London where it rains 3/4s of the time, one of the things I am really looking forward to this summer is some sunshine and beach time. I am also looking forward to the Afterlife parties in Ibiza.

WWD: What’s the one party you dream of playing if you ever had your pick?

That’s a really tough question but I will narrow it down to 3 choices. In London, room 1 in Fabric. In Berlin, Berghain. And in Ibiza, Space.

WWD: Aside from behind the decks, where does Yacine Dessouki plan on spending their time this Summer?

Spending some time with family, getting some well needed vacations and making some more tracks!

WWD: One track you think will be massive over the coming months?

A track that I have been playing a lot recently, Patrice Baumel – Surge.

WWD: Before we let you go, what else have you coming up on the horizon?

Aside from a release on Audio Rehab, I have a few tracks and collabs that I am working on.
