Starting ‘Beyond the Future’ in August 2020, Kamilo Sanclemente began a new chapter in his relationship with Proton Music. Provided with the perfect vehicle to showcase his original music plus remixes from specially selected artists, Volume 3 now opens with the driving energy of ‘Ashen Light’ with its rolling bassline and relentless beat. Soft and sustained pads add counterweight while beautiful melodies and wobbly arp-lead glisten across the stereo spectrum and into the third movement. With it subtly darker vibe and immaculately grooved bassline, ‘Haumea’ sparkles with its intricate percussive groove and syncopated glassy motifs. Adding complementary synthesized vocal phrases and textured pads to the fray creates a magical piece that opens up in the third movement. In collaboration with Giovanny Aparicio whom Sanclemente partnered with on Volume 2’s ‘Innocense’, ‘Azimut’ sees an eighth note stab and reversed synth effects provide a glorious sonic collage that builds with melancholic chord sequences. An emotive bassline progression and shimmering arp phrase adds a touch of class at the breakdown, before the rhythmic foundation and melodic interplay evolve once again post-breakdown.
