Berlin-based techno innovator Julien Bracht shares a powerful ode to rave with his new EP ‘Rave Flower’

One of Berlin’s rising stars in the techno and electronic music scene, Julien Bracht – returns this summer with an expertly produced meticulously written new EP. The EP begins with ‘Across The Ocean’ composed with his beloved Prophet 6, showcasing the artist’s love for euphoric, ecstasy-driven moments in the context of thunderous techno rhythms – bringing together the artists ability to create emotion, within the sound autonomous with his home city of Berlin.

The second track of the EP demonstrates what techno was truly made for – ‘Mode Flower Rave’ is a four-to-the-floor techno track feathered with 909 drums, acid squelches and heavily synthesized vocal samples that shakes walls. Mode Flower Rave clearly sets the tone for the rest of the EP, which is followed by ‘Rave Gene’ and ‘Don’t Chase Your Enemies’ – a collection of techno songs clearly inspired by the infamous underground music scene across Berlin.

An experienced head on young shoulders, Julien’s first experiences in music was as a drummer. He soon went on to find success as one half of Lea Porcelain alongside Mark Nikolaus. Their hypnotic post-rock debut release in 2017, “Hymns to the Night,” gained instant acclaim from UK tastemakers Lauren Laverne, Steve Lamacq and Zane Lowe. They soon hit the international stage with dates on several major festivals around Europe, including the Reading Leeds Festival, Great Escape in Brighton and Latitude.

Now focusing on his own productions, Julien has released a number of critically acclaimed productions including an official remix of Grimes’ ‘My Name Is Dark’. Last year, he also dropped his album ‘Now Forever One’ which went on to critical support from Mixmag, Datatransmission, Magnetic Mag, Groove Magazine and plenty more. The album has since dropped remixes from the likes of Marcel Dettman and Daniel Avery.

“This is my first new work on music, since I released my debut album ‘Now Forever One’ last year. I really wanted to make the transition back to the ‘dancefloor past‘ that I had before I formed the band Lea Porcelain. This is my way of expressing my personal rave with my very clear production of layered emotional synth patterns and pads. The EP is made for the right “rave” moments and I was definitely inspired by big room raves from the 90s and 2000’s.

I put all my energy and love into this EP and I’m thankful for you to listen to it and maybe include into your own personal “rave” moment in your sets in a club or home only with yourself. Have fun with it! Love, Julien.”
