There’s something satisfying about a label that knows exactly where it’s headed without losing sight of where it came from. For The Disco Express, that journey continues with ‘TDE: Best Of 2026,’ a six-track collection bringing together some of the standout moments from another busy year for the London-born imprint.
Landing on 23 October via The Disco Express, the compilation arrives in both digital format and as a deluxe, limited-edition 12-inch pink vinyl pressing and offers a snapshot of a label continuing to explore the space between funk-driven disco, jackin’ house, and soulful dancefloor music.
Since emerging from the underground East London party scene in 2017, The Disco Express has built its identity around a simple but enduring idea: disco belongs on contemporary dancefloors just as much as it does in the record collections that inspired it. ‘TDE: Best Of 2026’ brings that philosophy into focus, drawing together a selection of records that reflect the breadth of the label’s sound.
Across the compilation, the emphasis is firmly on groove. ’What You Gonna Say’ brings feel-good vocal energy to the mix, while ‘Less Struggle, More Hustle’ leans into funk-fuelled swagger. ‘The Movers’ taps into the warmth and character of ’70s-inspired disco, before ‘Stronger’ introduces a soulful lift. ‘Muchacho’ and ‘Run It Up’ round things out with irresistible drum work and a more direct dancefloor drive.
The result is a collection built around movement rather than a single, narrowly defined sound. Disco sensibilities sit comfortably alongside house rhythms, with each track contributing to a wider picture of a label comfortably navigating different corners of club culture while keeping its musical foundations intact.
The release also reflects the growing reach of The Disco Express catalogue. According to the label, music featured on the compilation has received support from an impressive cross-section of international selectors, including Roger Sanchez, Danny Rampling, Marco Carola, Jamie Jones, Joseph Capriati, Paco Osuna, Claptone, Danny Krivit, Sam Divine and Arthur Baker. It’s a diverse roll call spanning house, techno, disco and club music’s wider history.
Beyond the music itself, the physical edition gives the project an added sense of occasion. Pressed on limited-edition pink vinyl, ‘TDE: Best Of 2026’ feels like a fitting marker for a label whose identity extends beyond its releases and into the dancefloors, parties and communities surrounding them.
Its arrival also coincides with The Disco Express’s return to Amsterdam Dance Event. On Saturday 24 October, the label brings back TDE: Club Train, its party aboard a moving train through Amsterdam — an appropriately kinetic setting for an imprint that has always placed the shared experience of music at the centre of its story.
Rather than simply collecting tracks from the past twelve months, ‘TDE: Best Of 2026’ serves as a reminder of what The Disco Express does best: connecting the timeless appeal of disco and funk with the immediacy of modern club music. It’s a celebration of a catalogue built for DJs, dancers and anyone who believes a great groove never goes out of fashion.
Six tracks, a pink vinyl pressing and another year of forward momentum. The Disco Express is taking stock, but there’s little sense of standing still.
