Just Her makes her first appearance on HE.SHE.THEY. with three emotive productions across ‘To Be Heard’. With releases via Anjunadeep, Get Physical and Crosstown Rebels, Brighton-based DJ and producer Just Her has continued developing and evolving her sound, capturing influences across electronica, house and deep techno. Heading up her label Constant Circles while hosting events combining contemporary visual art with music across the UK and Europe has seen her profile build across the globe, with dates in the US, India, Australia and Mexico now part of her diary. Her next venture welcomes a first outing on HE.SHE.THEY as she readies her deeply personal three-track EP, ‘To Be Heard’.
“This release was created in two parts, before and after the birth of my baby, so it’s totally influenced by the emotions I was feeling at the different times. ‘To Be Heard’ is the more club based cut on the release, made right before Remi was born with an eye on the dancefloor and creating those moments of euphoria. ‘Golden Hour’ was written about that first hour of skin time with your new baby. I started the track before Remi was born with this vision in mind and then went back after I’d experienced it to add the real emotions and feelings. I still get goosebumps when I listen to the final section and think about holding our tiny new human. ‘The Longing’ was started and finished after the birth, so it is drawn from the emotions felt in the first weeks of Remi’s life, which is why it has a much deeper and more melodic edge. Or maybe because it was made in the depths of late nights & sleep deprivation, haha.” – Just Her
A hypnotic and winding production track combining bright synths and hazy vocals, title cut ‘To Be Heard’ channels slow-blooming melodies and building energy to showcase a vibrant production made for euphoric club moments. Next, ‘The Longing’ fuses emotive chords and refined drums with powerful vocals throughout, before ‘Golden Hour’ completes the package in style as driving builds and blissful breaks ebb and flow amongst a powerful six-minute journey. Just Her ‘To Be Heard’ drops via HE.SHE.THEY. on 27th May 2022, with the full EP to follow on 10th June 2022.
