Sven and Lars are the DJ and producer duo and real-life brothers from Halle that have never confined themselves to one sound. Since forming, the pair have run several vital labels including Hommage, then HOVSE since 2019, before launching Good Vibes From Paradise in 2023.

Their discography spans several albums and more than 30 EPs, largely self-released and self-directed, always curious and always chasing new inspirations and unexpected combinations. That restless streak has long been both their strength and, by their own admission, their curse: when everything interests you, staying on thread takes real discipline.

On ‘You Don’t Know What To Do,’ they’ve held that thread tighter than ever, delivering what the duo themselves call the most coherent album of their career. Its 10 tracks move between positive melancholy and open-minded euphoria, and they are joined along the way by two collaborators: Super Flu and Awen, artists brought in not to change the record’s direction but to make the room better. The result sounds exactly like Monkey Safari at their best, a lot going on without ever tipping into too much.

From the angelic vocals and emotional uplift of ‘Crystal Light’ to the warm grooves and lush chords of the title cut via ‘Otherside’s’ summery melodies and gorgeous vocals and the more global sounds of ‘Okonokwa’ and introspective moods of ‘Lately,’ this is an accomplished and coherent world of sound.

Monkey Safari show great range of moods and grooves here and thread it all together with the studio magic that has always stood them apart.
