21 January 2017

Irelands electronic music scene has been on the up and up for the last number of years. Going from strength to strength with the opening of new clubs and the establishment of new electronic music festivals almost on a yearly basis. Two of Dublins best homegrown talents took to one of the cities biggest stages, District 8 to play one of the  shows of the year within those four black walls. On December 16th a capacity crowd packed into the club to see Irishmen Dj Deece and Krystal Klear play alongside two of the best selectors around in my opinion Peggy Gou and Jackmaster.

With Dj Deece starting off proceedings he began as the rest were to go on with some of the best hip shaking house music around. Far too long has this man been overlooked on the international stage and we have a feeling here at When We Dip that 2017 has some very big things in store for him. Following on from him was Peggy Gou, a native Korean via Berlin. She seems to be one of the busiest djs around these days with a slew of gigs in all corners of the globe every weekend.

Then bringing us into the second half of the show was Krystal Klear. No stranger to the international stage he commanded the dancefloor with every move he made. It seemed like every dj playing that night couldn’t make a mistake if they tried. Seamless mixes from track to track with momentum and energy gather by the minute. Then to close things out was a very special treat for the crowd. A spontaneous back to back from Krystal Klear and Jackmaster brought us to the end of the show at breakneck speed. Through a masterclass showing why every dj on the stage that night are some of the best around. If only the cursed 3am finishing time in Ireland didn’t end proceedings what felt like prematurely.

And for those of you who were unlucky enough not to be there that faithful night you can get a taste of what you missed out on next week January 27th. When DJ Deece takes over for the whole night with a 5 hour set. You can grab your tickets HERE. Don’t sleep!
