The partnership came together naturally following Roel’s previous outings on Low Steppa’s label. The pair stayed in touch while the track was being refined, and what began as a solo idea ended up as a genuine joint effort, with Low Steppa continuing to champion Roel’s music both through the imprint and through his wider support as a DJ.
“When Roel sent me ‘Dreamliner’, it instantly took me back. It reminded me of the records I was playing when I was coming up around the Bristol circuit, learning the craft and trying to make a name for myself. It brought back a lot of good memories, so I couldn’t just let it sit on the EP, I had to jump on it. We kept the soul of the original but gave it a bit more of my flavour, and I think we’ve ended up with something that’s got one foot in the past and one firmly on today’s dancefloors,” explains Low Steppa.
