Cream steps onto Magic Stories Records for the very first time with ‘Lost Voyage’, a two track release that pairs his original mix with a remix from fellow Polish talent Milkwish. Catalogued as MSR019, it is the heaviest record the Szczecin based imprint has put out so far, and it brings together two of the most respected names in Polish melodic and progressive house on one package.
The original mix, sitting at 122 BPM, is Cream doing what he does best. The track builds its tension patiently and holds it from start to finish, flowing with a steady, hypnotic confidence that never breaks its stride. It is the kind of slow burning journey that makes perfect sense deep into a long progressive set, when the room is locked in and ready to travel. Milkwish then takes the same material in a more dynamic direction. His remix, at 123 BPM, adds sharper contrasts and a drop that hits considerably harder, turning the voyage into a proper peak time moment while keeping the emotional core of the original intact.
Behind the Cream alias is Krzysztof Kupczakiewicz, a Kraków born DJ with more than three decades of experience and a catalogue that now runs past 340 tracks. Working solo and as one half of the Cream and Deep Fog duo, he has released on respected labels such as 3rd Avenue, Proton Music, Beatfreak Limited, Deepwibe Underground and Univack, where his ‘Sirans / Abella’ EP arrived with a remix from Kamilo Sanclemente. His music has also been a regular fixture in Hernan Cattaneo’s sets for years, which says a lot about the consistency and quality he brings to the scene.
On remix duty, Milkwish is a producer from Szczecin, the same city Magic Stories Records calls home. Active since 2008, he broke through in 2012 with ‘SaintTrumpet’ on Tiger Records, a track that topped the Deutsche Dance Charts in Germany. In 2020 he made his Anjunabeats debut alongside Jerome Isma-Ae with ‘No Time To Wait’, and he has since released on Armada, Colorize, Perfect Havoc, Songspire and Black Hole Recordings. Along the way his records have received support from Armin van Buuren, Martin Garrix, Nora En Pure, Meduza, Gabriel & Dresden and Sultan + Shepard.
Founded by Mazze, Magic Stories Records has built its identity around music with emotional depth and real sonic character, with a growing catalogue that includes releases from Slaqk, Peres, Modern Walking and Mauro Masi. With two leading Polish artists joining forces on one record, MSR019 feels like a landmark moment for the label and a strong statement of where it is heading next.
