My Favorite Robot’s MFR Red series deals in single track, club focused, underground sounds that are all about making an impact on the dance floor. Next to serve up some weaponry is Canadian legend Kenny Glasgow.

Glasgow, of course, was one half of Art Department, which went on to be one of the biggest acts of recent years. Since going solo, he has continued to impress and innovate. The Toronto mainstay and his trademark vocals and ghoulish tech sound have fans all round the world and add real mood to dance floors everywhere. As well as albums on No.19 Music he has a long relationship with My Favorite Robot that blooms here once more.

The excellent ‘Acid Discharge’ is six devastating minutes of futuristic tech with a warped acid line constantly evolving throughout. Tense and involving, the heavy drums keep you locked as the 303 line is given centre stage to change shape, moving from intense to muted and back, mesmerising you as it does so. Well-crafted synths flesh things out, and at the mid point the drums hit even harder to hammer things home.

This is a perfectly designed bit of dance floor dynamite that will make an impact on even the biggest crowds.

Release date : May 31th, 2018. Buy here
